Written guidance for the devices and peripherals you rely on

Workvera's Device & Printer Advisory service produces structured written documentation for individuals and home-office users dealing with device issues, connectivity problems, configuration challenges, and peripheral setup. All guidance is delivered as a formatted written document — you follow the steps yourself, on your own device, without granting remote access to anyone.

Printers & Scanners

Printer disappeared from the network after a Windows update. Scanner no longer detected. Print jobs stuck in the queue. Wireless printing not working across multiple computers. We research your specific printer model and OS combination and document a clear, step-by-step resolution for you to follow.

Computers & Laptops

Slow performance after a software installation. Wi-Fi connectivity dropping. External monitor not recognised. Driver conflicts after an OS update. Peripheral devices not communicating with the computer. We document a structured resolution sequence based on your specific device, OS version, and the symptoms you describe.

Connectivity & Configuration

Devices that used to communicate no longer talking to each other. Cloud storage sync problems. USB devices not recognised. Router and network configuration affecting device performance. Account and software compatibility issues across multiple devices. We document clear configuration guidance tailored to your home or home-office setup.

Right for you — and what we don't do

Understand exactly who this service is designed for, and what falls outside our scope

Workvera's Device & Printer Advisory is designed for individuals and home-office users who deal with device and peripheral issues and want clear, documented guidance — without needing a technician to visit, without granting remote access to their computer, and without paying ongoing managed IT fees.

Our customers typically describe situations like: "My printer worked perfectly until a Windows update, and now I can't get it back on the network." Or: "I've just got a new laptop and I need to get everything transferred and configured properly." Or: "I manage three devices at home and things keep conflicting — I just want everything documented so I know what to do."

This service is suited to you if:

  • You have a specific device or printer issue you cannot resolve through standard troubleshooting
  • You've just bought a new device and want structured guidance to set it up correctly from the start
  • You manage a home office with multiple devices and want documented configuration guidance you can keep
  • You want to understand your device environment clearly — upgrade cycles, compatibility, maintenance — over the long term
  • You want written documentation rather than a phone call or remote session you can't refer back to later
  • You are a retiree, freelancer, carer, or home worker who manages devices independently and wants a reliable reference

What Workvera does not do

Workvera is a written advisory service. The following are outside the scope of this service — not because we lack knowledge, but because our model is documentation-based by design:

  • We do not take remote control of your computer or device — ever
  • We do not physically repair or replace hardware components
  • We do not visit your home or premises
  • We do not access your files, accounts, or operating system on your behalf
  • We do not install or uninstall software for you
  • We do not provide a break-fix repair service or managed IT support

If you need hands-on repair, a technician visit, or managed IT support, those are different service types — and we will tell you plainly if your situation falls outside what structured written advisory can address.

FAQs about Device & Printer Advisory

Everything you need to know before choosing a plan

What information do I need to provide in the request form?

The more detail you provide, the more precisely we can tailor the guidance. The most useful information to include is:

  • The device type, make, and model (e.g. HP LaserJet MFP M130nw, Dell Inspiron 15 laptop)
  • The operating system and version (e.g. Windows 11 Home, macOS Ventura 13.4)
  • A clear description of what the problem is and when it started
  • What you have already tried to resolve it
  • Whether the issue is affecting one device or multiple

You do not need to provide any passwords, login credentials, or access to your device — the guidance is produced from the information you describe and our research into your device model and OS.

What format will the guidance arrive in — and how detailed will it be?

Your advisory arrives as a structured written document delivered to your email address. Depending on the plan and complexity of the issue, it may be delivered as a formatted PDF, a structured email document, or a combination of both.

The document is formatted with numbered steps, clear headings, configuration notes, and a reference section. It is written in plain English — not technical jargon — and is designed to be followed by someone without prior IT knowledge. The level of detail matches the complexity of what you described: a straightforward printer reconnection will be several clear steps; a multi-device configuration issue will be a longer, more detailed document.

What if the guidance I receive doesn't resolve my issue?

All plans include at least one structured follow-up response. If the guidance provided does not resolve your issue, you can reply with additional details about what happened when you followed the steps — and our team will produce a follow-up document addressing what to try next, based on the new information.

In the rare case where an issue is genuinely outside what written advisory can address — for example, a hardware fault that can only be diagnosed by physical inspection — we will tell you plainly and advise you on what type of service (such as a local repair centre) would be better suited to your situation.

Can I upgrade from a shorter plan to a longer one later?

Yes. If you start with an Essential Issue Advisory or 30-Day plan and want to continue with longer advisory, you can purchase the next plan at any time. Plans are independent — each generates its own invoice and advisory period.

Many customers start with the £29 Essential Issue Advisory to experience how Workvera's documentation works, and then choose a longer plan for continued support. There is no obligation to continue and no automatic renewal.

Do you cover Apple Mac, Windows, and Linux devices?

Yes — advisory is available for Windows (Windows 10 and Windows 11), macOS (current and recent versions), and commonly used Linux distributions. The request form asks for your OS and version so the guidance is written specifically for your environment.

The majority of our customers use Windows-based devices and HP, Canon, Epson, or Brother printers — but all mainstream makes and models are covered. If you are unsure whether your device is covered, contact us before purchasing and we will confirm.

What is the refund policy for Device Advisory plans?

You may request a full refund within 14 days of payment, provided advisory has not yet commenced. "Commenced" means that structured written guidance has been produced and sent to your email address. Once advisory has commenced, the plan is non-refundable — because the time and expertise invested in producing the documentation cannot be reclaimed.

Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
